Rabta stores workspace metadata on your Mac. Here’s what it keeps, what it never captures and what can contact the network.
A database on your Mac.
A boundary you can see.
Desktop workspace pointers remain in the local data folder, alongside connector records, activity and preferences. An optional web account stores only your profile and the tools you choose.
What Rabta keeps.
Project and task names, repository paths, capsule pointers, connector pairing records, activity history, session timing and preferences.
A capsule contains open file paths, terminal working directories, browser URLs and titles, and the Git branch. It does not contain source code, file text, terminal output, page contents, keystrokes or clipboard data.
The main database is omnibus.db in ~/Library/Application Support/com.omnibus.dev/. The folder preserves the original bundle identifier so existing data stays in place.
How tools reach the app.
The hub binds to loopback on your Mac. The editor authenticates with a per-run local secret. The browser requires your approval in Rabta and stores its pairing token locally.
The browser connector requests tabs, storage and alarms. It has no host permissions or content scripts. Incognito tabs and non-HTTP(S) addresses are excluded.
What can contact the network.
Desktop 0.1.0 has no telemetry, analytics SDK, crash reporter or automatic update check.
When you use Git Fetch, your configured Git tool contacts your repository’s remotes. Optional GitHub issue features use your authenticated gh CLI. Rabta does not store your GitHub credentials.
Downloads contact their distribution hosts: GitHub, Microsoft, Open VSX or the Chrome Web Store.
Agent access.
The upcoming MCP server reads capsule data from the same local database. Capture and restore requests require Agent access in the running app and an authenticated local socket. Turning Agent access off removes the socket and secret.
A connected agent receives the briefing you request. The host you choose governs how that agent handles the context it receives.
This website.
Fonts and page assets are served with this website. Its page code adds no analytics or advertising pixels. Creative utilities process files locally in the desktop app; they are no longer hosted on this website.
This public website is hosted on ChatGPT Sites, which manages hosting and optional ChatGPT sign-in. Links to other services follow those services’ own privacy practices.
What your account stores.
Sign in with ChatGPT to identify yourself, then choose whether to create a Rabta profile. The hosting service provides a site-specific user identifier, email address and optional name. Rabta displays the email but does not copy it into its profile database.
When you create a profile, Rabta stores an account identifier, your chosen display name, selected tool identifiers and creation/update timestamps in the website’s database. This makes your saved tool list available in other browsers where you sign in. Signing in does not upload files, clipboard content, local notes or workspaces.
Your profile is kept until you delete it from Account. Deletion removes the live Rabta profile record. Hosting providers may retain operational backups or security logs under their own policies. Deleting a Rabta profile does not delete your ChatGPT account, end that sign-in session, or remove data from your device.
Keeping or deleting the data.
Delete a capsule in the app, or remove the data folder to erase local projects, tasks, capsules and history. Removing the application alone does not delete that folder.
To keep your data, quit Rabta and back up the folder before removing it. Settings → Privacy & data → Reveal in Finder opens its location. Your desktop workspace database is not copied to the web account.
