Install Rabta, connect your tools and save your first capsule. Start with your editor and add Chrome when you want your tabs included.
Install the app.
You need macOS 11 or later on an Apple silicon Mac. Download the DMG, open it and drag Rabta into Applications. Eject the disk image and open Rabta.
Download RabtaThe release is signed and notarized. You can verify your copy against the official release before opening it.
Requirements and verificationConnect your editor.
In VS Code, Cursor, VSCodium or Windsurf, open Extensions and search for Rabta Connector. Install it, then reload the editor window with Rabta running.
code --install-extension rabta-connect.rabta-vscodeFor Cursor, use cursor in place of code. Connector 0.2.0 requires VS Code 1.93 or a compatible editor based on it. Pairing uses a local discovery file.
Add Chrome, if you want.
Install Rabta Connector from the Chrome Web Store. On its first connection, open Rabta’s Connectors view and approve the browser.
The connector reads the URLs and titles of non-incognito HTTP(S) tabs. It does not read page contents. Your editor workspace can work without the browser connector.
Get the Chrome connectorGive the work a name.
Open Projects → Register Project and choose a Git repository. In Capsules, add a task under that project.
With your files, integrated terminals and browser tabs open, press Save State. The capture tells you what was saved and what was skipped.
Leave. Then resume.
Activate a different task. Rabta saves the one you are leaving. When you return, choose the saved task and press Resume.
Rabta checks the branch first and asks connected tools to bring the workspace back. Read the receipt for anything waiting for a reload, skipped or failed. A dirty working tree can prevent a branch switch.

Check that Rabta is running, then reload the editor. The Connectors view shows each connector’s state. Activity records requests, responses and reasons for skipped items.
After restarting Rabta, reload the editor so it reads the new local handshake. For an incomplete restore, start with the receipt.
Get helpYour data, and removing it.
In Settings, open Privacy & data → Reveal in Finder. The data folder is ~/Library/Application Support/com.omnibus.dev/.
To remove Rabta, quit it and move the app to Trash. To erase local capsules and history too, remove the data folder separately. There is no server copy; back it up first if you want to keep it. Uninstall connectors from your editor and browser.
